Privacy Policy

      Spendu is built on a simple principle: your financial data is yours.
      The app works fully offline without an account. Sign-in is optional and only used for cloud backup.
    

1. How the App Works

Spendu operates in two modes:

Offline / Guest mode (default): All data — expenses, budgets, subscriptions, car costs — is stored only on your device using local storage. Nothing is transmitted to any server. No account is required.
Cloud Sync mode (optional): If you choose to sign in, your data is encrypted and synced to our servers so you can back it up and restore it across devices. You can sign out at any time, which stops all syncing.

2. Data We Collect (Signed-In Users Only)

When you create an account and enable cloud sync, the following data is collected and stored on our servers. This data is never used for advertising and is never sold or shared with third parties for any commercial purpose.

3. What We Do NOT Collect

📍 Location data — never requested
📞 Phone contacts — never accessed
📷 Photos or camera — never accessed
💳 Actual credit card or bank account numbers
📊 Browsing or search history
📣 Advertising identifiers or cross-app tracking data
🏥 Health or fitness data
📉 Crash reports or analytics (no third-party analytics SDK is used)

4. Third-Party Services

When you sign in, your authentication and synced data are handled by Supabase (supabase.com), a secure cloud platform. Supabase acts as a data processor on your behalf. Your data is stored in their infrastructure and is not used by Supabase for any purpose other than providing the service.

No other third-party service receives your data.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

Offline mode: Your data lives exclusively on your device. Deleting the app removes it completely.

Cloud sync mode: Your data is stored on our servers as long as your account exists. You may delete your account at any time from the Profile screen inside the app, which permanently deletes all your synced data from our servers within 30 days.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
